Minnesota's Career Resource
The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council is a leader in CareerForce, Minnesota’s Career Resource. We partner extensively with staff from the Department of Employment and Economic Development to provide comprehensive business services and to carry out CareerForce’s mission to facilitate thriving career solutions for individuals, employers and communities in Minnesota.
CareerForce services include:
- Offer assistance with recruiting and hiring your workforce, including offering and collecting applications.
- Promote job openings locally and through Minnesota’s Labor Exchange.
- Promote Career Fairs and Hiring Events, including providing space at our CareerForce locations to interview candidates.
- Provide customized regional labor market information, blog posts and news, and tips for attracting, developing and retaining employees.
- Connections to state resources such as Federal Bonding, Foreign Labor Program (H2A and H2B only), Grant opportunities, Layoff aversion, Unemployment Insurance and Work Opportunity Tax Credits.
- Workforce Strategy Consultants (DEED) for talent recruitment and retention consultation and other workforce strategy consultation.

Workforce Wednesdays Virtual Meeting
You can also check out Workforce Wednesdays - Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Workforce Strategy Consultant team hosts virtual meetings the first Wednesday of the month from 11am to 12pm. The virtual meetings focus on highlighting proven strategies to build talent pipelines, hearing and sharing best practices, and networking with other Minnesota employers about all things workforce.
