Connecting College Students with businesses in southwest Minnesota
The Summer Internship Program is a collaboration between participating southwest Minnesota counties and the Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council (PIC). The program connects college students with local businesses for a paid internship where they can gain professional experience and learn what local employers have to offer.
This program aims to expose college students to careers in their home counties, encouraging them to explore the diverse opportunities available in southwest Minnesota while earning up to $17/hour for up to 29 hours per week. Salaries for internships are generously funded by the county commissioners for each individual program.
Currently, the following counties are participating in the Summer Internship Program:
- Nobles County: Now entering its third summer, Nobles County's program has successfully connected students with a variety of local employers, offering meaningful work experiences across several industries.
