Helping southwest minnesota youth explore careers
Figuring out what you want to do for your career can be a challenging path to navigate; let us help! We work with schools and employers throughout southwest Minnesota to help youth ages 14-24 explore careers and identify what’s next and the pathway to get there.
Career Exploration activities
Additionally, Youth Employment Specialists can walk through the process of selecting the training/education you need, applying for college as well as scholarships, and more as you pursue your career goals.
You don’t have to do it alone! We can assist you with the process.
What is a career pathway ?
A Career Pathway helps you identify the steps needed to get a job in your chosen career. With helpful tools like labor market information, you will be able to have a better understanding of job duties, your earning potential and the training that is needed to help you get the job.
Youth Career Connectors
The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council’s Youth Career Connectors works with employers and educators to assist students with career exploration, career awareness, career preparation, work-based learning activities, career focused events and workplace experiences.
Providing students with opportunities to experience “real-life” workplaces and employees outside of the classroom is important for their career preparation and for building a pipeline of future southwest Minnesota skilled workers.
