What We Do
Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council is a private, nonprofit organization that serves job seekers and employers. We assist people with discovering the career for them and gaining meaningful employment. Whether it is your first job, a new job, or a whole new career, we are here to help. We have been there and have the tools and resources to assist you with your career goals. We provide quality employment and training services, business services, and youth career connector services in partnership with employers, schools, and other organizations.
The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council, through its work with the Southwest Minnesota Workforce Development Board, is a leader in CareerForce, Minnesota’s Career Resource. We support the work of the board through facilitating services out of southwest Minnesota CareerForce locations and implementing regional workforce development priorities.

We, the Board and Staff of the Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council, Inc., believe in everyone's potential and partner with individuals, employers, and school to empower job seekers of all ages and backgrounds to find meaningful careers.

Our Team
Our people are what make our work so impactful. Our staff and partners genuinely care about helping those get to where they want to be in their work life.
Staff are located in our CareerForce locations in Marshall, Montevideo, and Worthington, in local health and human services offices, and regularly provide services in partnership with local colleges and high schools.
Council Board of Directors
The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council, Inc.’s, Board of Directors consists of 7 volunteer members from across our fourteen-county workforce service area: Big Stone, Chippewa, Cottonwood, Jackson, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Rock, Swift, and Yellow Medicine.
